One Branded Programs Page
A personal photograph, a short introduction and multiple affiliate programs—each with a title, description and 468 × 60 banner—all promoted through one link.
It all started with one simple idea
BuildABizOnline did not begin as a membership website. It began while I was promoting several affiliate programs and looking for a simpler way to advertise them.
Paul Kinder, who I believe was the original owner of Traffic Splash, suggested that I create one page with a header, a photograph of myself, my name, and a list of the affiliate programs I belonged to.

Each program on that first page had a title, a short description and a 468 Ă— 60 banner. It meant that instead of trying to advertise lots of separate links, I could promote one page containing all my programs.
Other affiliate marketers I knew soon began asking, “Can you build a page like that for me?” I created some for them, but the requests grew and it became too much to manage by hand.
That was when the membership side of BuildABizOnline began. Members could upload their own photograph, brand themselves, add their own programs and create their own Programs Page. Their page also linked back through their personal BuildABizOnline affiliate link.
From there, members wanted to see who had joined beneath them, contact their downline, track their advertising, build splash pages and collect leads. One useful idea naturally led to the next—and BuildABizOnline continued to grow.
A note about the history: Exact dates are not shown because many of the earliest records were not dated. This page follows the order in which the ideas and tools developed, rather than pretending to know dates that cannot be confirmed.
